With all of the varied and inspiring technological advances in communication, it is not surprising that the field of education has also stepped forward into the 21st century with remote tutors and educational programs taught completely over video. Many people in the know are now obtaining educations on everything from massage therapy to fully accredited law degrees in the comfort of their own home and on their own time through the miracle of video teaching. Young children with social stigmas are being taught at home through fully accredited elementary and secondary school programs that are taught entirely through video as well.
However, the idea of school being taught at any age through video is not an idea that has necessarily hit the mainstream just yet. There are also smaller government efforts that are made out to target adults who are looking for continuing educational opportunities. These programs have scholarships and federal grants available for them just like college and university programs.
The advantages of video teaching, especially for adults that are looking for continuing educational opportunities, is the complete flexibility with which a student can take a program. No longer do students looking for a law degree have to stop their current employment, sacrifice time with their families and friends, and go into massive debt wasting transportation resources just in order to have a chance at an advanced degree.
With these types of advantages, it is difficult to understand why more attention has not been focused on these types of video programs which give flexibility to the educational system. However, with the efforts of a few, this is sure to change as the world continues to gravitate to electronic commerce.
